'Lampard broke our business' - President makes Dele Alli Everton transfer claim

Dele Alli almost completed a move to Turkey before signing for Everton, it has been claimed.

The Blues signed the England international from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent transfer on deadline day.

Alli was one of two deals completed by Everton on Monday, with Donny van de Beek arriving on loan from Manchester United.

Both deals were completed on the same day that Frank Lampard was announced as the club’s new manager.

Alli has joined the Blues on an initial free transfer, although £10m must be paid to Tottenham after he reaches 20 appearances, and it's been reported that the transfer could rise to £40m in total depending on other clauses being met in his two-and-a-half year contract.

However, according to the president of a club in Turkey, the 25-year-old very nearly didn’t end up at Goodison Park.

Murat Sancak, president of Adana Demirspor, has said that he and his club had a deal with Tottenham to sign Alli on loan for the remainder of the season.

And Sancak claims that Lampard’s arrival 'broke their business'.

"We made a deal with Tottenham for Dele Alli,” Sancak said on Instagram, via Sporx .

“They were going to give us a loan. Even his older brother came to Turkey.

“The transfer was almost over. Just then, when Lampard went to Everton, he broke our business."
