Lamborghini driver suspected of being on drugs 'misses wedding' after being stopped by police

The driver of a Lamborghini appears to have missed his own wedding after police stopped him in Bolton on the way to his big day.

Traffic cops stopped the black supercar - a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan which costs from £164,000 -on Green Lane in the Great Lever area of the town on Friday evening following complaints from members of the public about the way it was being driven.

The driver told officers from the force's 'Roads Policing Taskforce' he was on the way to his wedding - but his big day took a turn for the worse when he failed a drug test and he was arrested.

Greater Manchester Police posted a picture of the Lamborghini after it had been stopped from its GMP Traffic X account (formerly Twitter).

The post said: "After complaints from the public regarding the manner of driving of a Lamborghini, it was stopped by #RPTF patrol on Green lane Bolton.

"Driver stated he was on the way to his wedding! Unfortunately the vows will have to wait as he failed a drugs test and was then arrested."

The post included the hashtag 'fatal4', a reference to the four most common factors in fatal crashes: speeding, drink and drug driving, seatbelt misuse and use of mobile phones at the wheel.

The post quickly garnered more than 100,000 views and prompted a series of replies on X, not all of them serious.

Greater Manchester Police has been asked by the M.E.N. for more details about the incident.
