Lakers' Schroder (thumb) out 3-4 weeks
Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham told reporters Monday that point guard Dennis Schroder will have surgery on his injured thumb and will be out three to four weeks.
Schroder suffered the injury in preseason play last week and originally had his status as up in the air for the start of the season. Los Angeles will kick off their regular season slate on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors.
Lakers guard Dennis Schroder will undergo surgery on his injured thumb and will miss three-to-four weeks, coach Darvin Ham says.
Signed to a one-year, $2.6 million this off-season, Schroder averaged 13.5 points and 4.6 assists per game in a combined 64 games for the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets in 2021-22.
He spent the previous season with the Lakers and averaged 15.4 points on 43.7 per cent shooting to go along with 5.8 assists.
The 29-year-old is heading into his 10th NBA season.
