Labour plans to ban smoking in all outdoor public spaces according to 'leaked' documents

Labour is considering making it illegal to smoke a cigarette in outdoor public spaces such as beer gardens, or even outside football stadiums, in an effort to encourage Britain to quit smokin, according to alleged leaked plans. The move could see cigarettes banned from most public spaces.

Just weeks into government, Labour is said to be extending the current indoor smoking ban to all outdoor public places. This would mean it would be against the law to light up outside at a restaurant, or even in the smoking area of a nightclub, under the government's plans to beef up public health legislation.

However, there are concerns about the potentially devastating impact a smoking ban could have on hospitality businesses, which are already struggling due to Covid pandemic lockdowns.
