Kym Marsh pulls out of BBC Morning Live last-minute over 'possibly stress-related' illness

Kym Marsh was forced to pull out of presenting Thursday's episode of Morning Live because of a “possibly stress-related” illness, according to her co-hosts.

Gethin Jones, who usually presents the show alongside her, was instead joined by Rav Wilding after Kym had to take a last-minute day off.

Opening the show, which airs weekdays at 9.15am on BBC One and is filmed in Manchester, Gethin told viewers: "You've got me and Rav today... You've stepped in because Kym Marsh is not here today, she's supposed to be but she's ill, isn't she?"

Rav said: "She called in a few hours ago. She's sick, possibly stress-related, and I think she's got a lot going on at the moment and possibly shingles as well. So nasty if she's got that. Kym, I know you're watching at home, get well soon."

Gethin added: "She's got so much going on with her dad at the moment. She's been on Morning Live, Dave's been on Morning Live talking about his prostate cancer. And we know that doctors can no longer treat it."

Former Coronation Street actress Kym has talked about her father's illness on the show many times before. Dave was on the show last year during Men's Health Week, when he encouraged men to get prostate exams.

Last month, her parents were on the show to give an update. Marsh said they were living "day by day" as her dad's cancer has now spread to his bones.

Kym also took a lengthy break from presenting the show in 2021 after she had a double hernia operation.

Morning Live will be returning to screens next year with a longer running time, as well as a new lineup of hosts. Michelle Ackerley
