Kylian Mbappe transfer to Real Madrid teased by Florentino Perez during title celebrations

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has suggested that a deal for Kylian Mbappe could be close in the wake of their LaLiga title celebrations

Los Blancos are again Spain's top side and have long been linked with a move for the French World Cup winner. Mbappe was on Madrid's radar when he shot to fame at Monaco, but he chose to move to PSG in the summer of 2017. He's spent the last five years in Paris but his contract expires this summer.

Currently he is free to leave for nothing, although the Parisians are determined to keep hold of their prized asset. Madrid saw bids knocked back last summer and are poised to return as they look to tempt the forward to the Bernabeu. The Perez-led Galactico project has long seen the club target the world's top players.

And the president suggested that a move for Mbappe could be on the cards. He told Movistar : "I hadn't thought about it [Mbappe] but now that you mention it, it might be true and so on." Perez then added: "When we plan next year's squad, we'll see."

Carlo Ancelotti, who returned to coach Madrid for a second time in the summer, has now claimed a league title in a fifth different country. The Italian would be the man coaching the French forward and offered a cryptic response when quizzed on the player. He said to beIN Sports : "Mbappe to Real Madrid? With this club, with this president, the future is already written."

Madrid felt Mbappe's quality firsthand in the Champions League this season. The Frenchman scored in both legs of their last-16 tie, notching a last minute winner at the Parc des Princes. He then scored in Madrid before Karim Benzema led his side's comeback.
