Kylian Mbappe: PSG star scored brilliant solo goal vs Urawa Red Diamonds

Last season, Kylian Mbappe was playing football from another planet.

Overall, Paris Saint-Germain had a fairly lacklustre season. They may have won Ligue 1, but failed to get their hands on any other domestic trophies and were knocked out of the Champions League in the last-16 by Real Madrid.

But while those around him weren’t at the peak of their powers, Mbappe was among the finest performers on the planet.

In 46 appearances across all competitions, the French superstar scored 39 goals and assisted his teammates on 26 occasions.

That means he was averaging 1.41 goal contributions per outing, which is quite frankly ridiculous.

It’s no wonder PSG fans were ecstatic when he signed a new contract, is it?

They’ll be hoping Mbappe can finally bring the Champions League trophy to Paris in 2022/23 and he already looks in red hot form during PSG’s pre-season tour of Japan.

In the team’s friendly against Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday, the 23-year-old scored a marvellous solo goal to put Christophe Galtier’s side 2-0 ahead after Pablo Sarabia had opened the scoring.

Mbappe received the ball on the edge of the box from Juan Bernat and proceeded to make the two defenders closing in on him look like training cones.

He then displayed some trademark acceleration, before emphatically firing ball into the back of the net from a very tight angle.

Mbappe just makes football look way too easy, doesn’t he?
