Kylian Mbappe Instagram: PSG star posts 'controversial' story after 0-0 draw with Reims

Kylian Mbappe posted a controversial Instagram story following Paris Saint-Germain’s 0-0 draw against Reims.

PSG failed to win only their second Ligue 1 game of the season with a disappointing tie away to Reims, who currently sit 14th in the league table.

In truth, Christophe Galtier’s side were fortunate to come away with a point as Reims had a total of 24 shots but couldn’t find a way past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

PSG’s hopes weren’t helped by the fact Sergio Ramos was shown a straight red for something he seemingly said to the referee during his protests in the 41st minute.

They also weren’t helped by the fact Lionel Messi missed the game through injury. Meanwhile, Neymar was left on the substitute bench until the 57th minute.

It meant that Mbappe started upfront by himself with Carlos Solder and Pablo Sarabia behind him. It’s not a role that Mbappe particularly likes.

And that, apparently, was the reason behind a ‘controversial’ Instagram post after the match.

Mbappe used the hashtag “pivot gang” and Get French Football News claim it was a dig at Galtier because he doesn’t like playing upfront by himself.

He may well have been a bit annoyed with Galtier’s comments following the game, claiming the Frenchman was a bit like an ‘orphan’ without Messi or Neymar.

“When Messi or ‘Ney’ don’t start obviously that changes the way we play and can lead to us maybe losing balls that lead to a few jitters and hand confidence to the opposition,” said Galtier.
