Kylian Mbappe in shock PSG dig as star revels in 'freedom' away from superstar team-mates

PSG star man Kylian Mbappe has claimed he has 'more freedom' during his time with French national team compared to starring for his club.

The 23-year-old was anything but subtle over life at the Ligue 1 champions after France's 2-0 Nations League victory over Austria on Thursday. The PSG frontman claimed that he can 'move and go to space' within Didier Deschamps' system whereas in 'Paris it is different'. It comes amid non-stop speculation he and fellow superstar Neymar are not on the same page with Lionel Messi also a key figure now in Paris.

Mbappe netted the opened during the League A Group 1 clash when he broke forward into space before smashing the ball into the roof of the net with a terrific finish. Olivier Giroud then sealed all three points when he headed home to double the French lead. And it was the striking partnership that sparked the 'dig', with the PSG forward pointing out France boss Deschamps' system in which Giroud acts as the focal point in attack to allow Mbappe to make runs off his fellow Frenchman.

Speaking after the game, Mbappe bluntly said: "What they ask of me here is different. Here, I have much more freedom than at PSG.

"The coach knows that there is a '9', like Giroud, and so I can move and go to space. In Paris it is different, they ask me to play pivot, although I enjoy everywhere."
