Kyle Walker gives very honest Man City verdict following disappointing draw with Nottingham Forest

Kyle Walker had admitted Saturday's draw with Nottingham Forest is 'unacceptable' and Manchester City 'need to do better.'

City looked to have rediscovered their best form and appeared set to go on another lengthy winning run after the galvanising victory over title rivals Arsenal on Wednesday. The victory at the Emirates saw City claim top spot for the first time in months with the momentum swinging back into their favour.

However, Arsenal valiantly fought from behind twice in Saturday's early kick-off to beat Aston Villa 4-2 and to leapfrog the Blues, leaving Pep Guardiola's side with the task of picking up three points at the City Ground to once again climb to the summit.

Things appeared to be going to plan as City completely dominated the first half and eventually took the lead through a thunderous Bernardo Silva strike. They enjoyed 86 per cent of possession which continued in the second half but the second goal proved elusive.

Erling Haaland, Aymeric Laporte and Rodri all missed particularly great chances and the feeling that City would be punished for their wastefulness began to creep in. Inevitably, it did, as Chris Wood levelled the scores with Forest's only shot on target late on and City had no response.

They can have no one to blame but themselves for the two dropped points and Walker says the team knows they need to improve. He said: "We know if we want to compete with teams at the top we need to come to grounds like this and win.

"We know it's unacceptable and we have to move on from that. We have to give Forest credit, they dug in and full credit to them but from a City point of view we need to do better.
