Kyle Walker gives one condition for Man City teammate Erling Haaland to enjoy the limelight

Kyle Walker is more than happy for Erling Haaland enjoy the limelight of being a Manchester City star - so long as he keeps producing the goods in front of goal.

Haaland has become a superstar since joining City for £51million last summer. The Norwegian netted an incredible 52 goals in 53 appearances to help his side win the treble last season, breaking countless records in the process.

Those goalscoring exploits have only increased attention on the 23-year-old, who is relishing the fame. And Walker is more than happy for that to continue, so long as the goals keep flowing.

“He’s a good laugh," Walker told Sky Sports of Haaland. "Obviously, he’s a superstar and in the nicest way possible he knows that. He’s not arrogant with that.

“We were walking out, we were going to training and he’s walking in front of me and I’ve just held the lads back, and he must grow two inches and his walk gets slower.

“He’s a brand, as football is now, he’s a brand and he can do that and I’ll keep letting him do that as long as he’s playing football and he’s scoring goals. He went and got the brace that hopefully has put us one step closer to getting to that important stage of the Champions League.”

Despite a relatively dry period before the last international break - one goal in five - Haaland still have 14 goals to his name already this season. He finally got off the mark in Europe on Wednesday, scoring twice in City's 3-1 Champions League win at BSC Young Boys.

The Norwegian failed to score at Old Trafford last season but will hope to take advantage of a threadbare Manchester United
