Kye Rowles 'agrees' Hearts transfer as Tynecastle club set to complete another Australian swoop

Australian defender Kye Rowles is set to join Hearts after the Tynecastle club agreed terms, according to a report.

The Central Coast Mariners star made his full Australia debut this week and has been heavily linked with a move to Robbie Neilson 's team.

And now the Edinburgh Evening News say he has agreed terms on a long-term contract with Hearts set to pay Mariners an undisclosed fee.

It's claimed his medical and work permit are the only roadblocks left in the way and a deal could be announced imminently.

The deal for Rowles comes after the success of Cammy Devlin who has been a hit since arriving from Newcastle Jets in January.

Rowles made his full debut for his country during the week and the 23-year old is seen as his country's most promising prospects.

And he'll be a boost to Neilson's defensive options as Hearts get set for a crack at the Europa League next season.

Rowles arrives to replace John Souttar who joined Rangers on a free transfer.

He is likely to become their second summer signing after the arrival of Alan Forrest from Livingston.
