Kulusevski backs ‘incredible’ Eriksen to reunite with Conte and take Tottenham to new level

Dejan Kulusevski has backed Christian Eriksen to make a return to Tottenham and reunite with former Inter manager Antonio Conte.

Spurs are looking to bolster their ranks all across the pitch as they prepare for Champions League football next season. Their Premier League top-four finish has allowed Conte to be ambitious for next season, but he needs new signings.

Ivan Perisic has arrived at wing-back. The former Inter star is linking up with Conte again after they won Serie A together in the 2020/21 season.

Amid interest in Brighton’s Yves Bissouma, reports have also claimed that former Spurs and Inter midfielder Eriksen is a target for the north London club again.

The Denmark international resurrected his career in style with Brentford last season. The Bees have reportedly offered him a long-term contract, but he has rejected that as he looks for a new challenge.

According to Sweden international Kulusevski – who played against Eriksen while at Juventus and as Spurs played Brentford last season – the midfielder would fit right in in north London again.

“He would be most welcome,” Kulusevski told Nettavisen of a potential Eriksen move back to Spurs.

“He is an incredible player and a wonderfully good person too.

“I know him a little from before, but no [we haven’t spoken recently], we are not that good friends.”

Eriksen said recently that he has “an idea” of his where he will be playing next season. Brentford are “definitely” in the picture for the 30-year-old, who has not yet come to a final decision.

He added that “it will be a decision from a sports perspective and also a family perspective”.
