Kudermetova, Kasatkina in all-Russian French Open last-eight clash

Veronika Kudermetova reached her first Grand Slam quarter-final at the French Open on Monday, setting up an all-Russian clash against Daria Kasatkina. The world number 29 came back from a set down to defeat Madison Keys of the United States 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

The 25-year-old recovered from dropping the first set to level the last-16 tie on a seventh set point in the second. She then swept into a 4-1 lead in the decider as Keys, a 2018 semi-finalist, wilted under a serving barrage which has taken the Russian to a tournament-leading 23 aces.
