KSI visits mosque after YouTube racial slur backlash

Videos of popular Youtuber KSI at a local mosque have been posted online after he faced a backlash for using a racial slur. Clips of the Prime co-founder attending a mosque in Bradford on Tuesday night (April 4) have been shared widely on platforms such as Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.

The videos come just days after he announced a 'social media break' in an apology he issued for using a racial slur in a Youtube video. In one of the clips posted by TikTok user zeeshan__s2, KSI, local imam Hussain and others are stood inside the Al-Hikam Institute in Bradford speaking about the YouTube video.

In the video the imam can be heard saying: "Even those sat on the Sidemen, they probably didn't understand. It might have been just laughed off."

Another person who is off camera interjects and says "it was ignorance from what I saw" and the imam agrees and goes on to add that KSI is at the mosque "to learn about what it is" and goes onto mention how the YouTuber told him he had never been inside a mosque before.

On Monday (April 3) KSI apologised for his use of the slur saying there is “no excuse” and added that he will be taking a step back from social media.

In a video that has since been removed from the Sidemen channel, the 29-year-old, who is also known as a boxer and co-founder of the popular Prime energy drinks, used the derogatory word while playing a game based on Countdown.

His team had to form the longest possible word from nine letters - and KSI gave "P***" as his attempt. The other players were seen laughing afterwards.
