Kris Boyd loves what Rangers star has just posted on Instagram

Kris Boyd is loving what Rangers captain James Tavernier has posted on Instagram after the club’s latest famous night at Ibrox.

Rangers managed to grind out a 2-2 draw at home in the Europa League, which saw them progress to the last 16 with a 6-4 aggregate scoreline – and it was their captain who once again stood out.

Tavernier netted the opening goal in the first leg from the penalty spot and he repeated that on Thursday night when he put Rangers ahead on the night from 12 yards out. However, this time he wasn’t done, as his equaliser in the second half put the game pretty much beyond Dortmund and sent Ibrox into delirium.

Former Rangers striker Boyd commented several hand-clapping emojis as he was clearly impressed by Tavernier’s performance.

TIF Thoughts on James Tavernier…

After struggling to make a name for himself at clubs such as Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic, Tavernier moved to Rangers during their years spent outside of the SPFL and has since become the club captain, made 327 appearances across all competitions while lifting the league title last season.

Despite being a right-back, Tavernier is one of Rangers’ best attacking threats, having racked up 75 goals and 104 assists during his time at Ibrox, with his three strikes over two games against Dortmund only enhancing his impending legendary status when he eventually leaves the club.
