Kris Boyd blasts 'pathetic' Krzysztof Piatek after Scotland sickener and makes John McGinn comparison

Incensed Kris Boyd blasted Polish forward Krzysztof Piatek for conning the referee in the dying seconds of the Hampden friendly.

And he insists Scotland talisman John McGinn was too honest when presented with a similar situation at the other end of the park in the Hampden friendly.

Scotland took the lead through Kieran Tierney but before his headed goal McGinn tried to stay on his feet when clipped by Poland keeper Lukasz Skorupski.

And that was in stark contrast to Piatek who went to ground under minimal pressure from Craig Gordon before rolling the spot-kick down the middle.

Boyd, who scored seven goals in 18 Scotland appearances, told Sky Sports: "There's a lot of positives to take for Scotland.

"You can tell with the way Kieran Tierney spoke though, to be cheated at the end like that.

"John McGinn was too honest because there was contact and he should go down.

"You then look at the other end, and it's maybe just something we're brought up in, honesty.

"He (Piatek) is past Craig Gordon. Yes, there's no doubt Grant Hanley touches him a little bit, but it's not enough to go down rolling about the way he does.

"There is no contact there at all from Craig Gordon. That is absolutely pathetic. I can't believe the referee buys it.

"He can't guess. It's an absolutely atrocious decision from the referee.

"When it comes to major competitions you've got VAR. You'd like to think that VAR would stop that."
