Kolawole, Aigbotsua win Ikeja Golf Club festival

Rafiu Kolawole and Austin Aigbotsua were, at the weekend, among winners in the various categories of the Ikeja Golf Club’s 2024 Captain’s Day tournament.

The event, which lasted from March 18 to 23, featured veterans, Super veterans and Men’s winner handicap among other categories.

In the Veterans’ category, Kolawole emerged winner with 39 gross in NETT, while Aigbotsua, with 84 gross, won the Best Gross category.

In the Handicap Men’s 20 and above category, Seun Aderibigbe clinched top position with 92 gross in Men’s Best Gross, while Niyen Ezomo emerged champion in Men’s NETT.

In the Handicap men’s 0-19 category, Rasaki Muritala, with a total of 72 gross, was crowned the winner in Men’s Best Gross, just as Bedemi Ojo emerged winner in Men’s NETT.

In the Ladies category, Remi Olufadebo emerged winner in Ladies’ NETT, while Lynda Obieze winning the Best Gross category.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to all past captains of the club for their services while prizes were also given to the winners.

Captain of Ikeja Golf Club, Olusina Akinyemi, stated that his desire is to promote the image of the club by renewing facilities capable of inspiring members to greater height.

Akinyemi tagged his achievements in the last 365 days, saying it was a tip of the iceberg compared to hidden plans yet to be executed.

“I can say authoritatively that this club is moving to the next level. Our achievements and projects unveiled in the last 365 days are not farfetched.
