KOF 98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is now available on PS4

The gaming community was not prepared for the arrival of a classic fighting game on a current-generation console.

The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition appears to be available for purchase on PS4 after it has already been made available on PC via Steam.

The classic KOF entry, which is still widely regarded as the most iconic and definitive release in the storied series.

The 98 Final Edition, includes a new rebalance of the game’s 64-strong roster of classic characters and gamers will almost certainly find some gameplay and balance improvements, as well as a practice mode helpful that’s if you want to tighten up your combos.

Along with the announcement of the upcoming Team DLC for The King of Fighters XV, SNK also announced that the King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is now available for PS4.

This updated re-release of the classic fighting game includes several new features and modernized enhancements that will appeal to both veterans and prospective newcomers.

Players can expect a new Ultimate Mod system and game balance changes, though details have yet to be released. Challenge Mode and Practice Mode will also be included, with the latter providing the expected functionality.

However, perhaps the most important aspect of this game is that it includes rollback net code, a feature that has become the norm for most fighting games in this day and age as it makes things smoother and more responsive.
