How Liverpool will win the title

With that draw, you might think that Liverpool’s title challenge is over. Not so. Here’s how it pans out…

Tomorrow, City have a comfortable 3-0 win against Newcastle, surging 3 points clear. Liverpool responded with a tight 2-1 win over Villa, with City then winning 3-1 at Wolves.

Then comes the twist. Up against a West Ham team desperate for Europe league football, City fall to a shock 2-0 defeat. Liverpool capatalise on that slip up, winning 1-0 at Southampton (probably a last minute Origi goal).

That means going into the last day of the season, City and Liverpool have the exact same goal difference, with the same number scored and conceded. We have a straight shootout for the title. Whoever has the best result wins. Or, if they match each other’s score, we have the incredible possibility of a 39th match playoff to determine the league champions.

I mean that won’t really happen, and clearly City will win their last 4 games, but it would be a hell of a finish to the season.
