Klopp admits Gerrard could be his Liverpool ‘successor’ and provides Firmino injury update
Jurgen Klopp admits he would not be surprised to see Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard succeed him as Liverpool manager.
The former Liverpool captain took charge of Rangers following his retirement and helped guide them to their 55th Scottish league title.

He has been tipped to replace Klopp when the German leaves Anfield, and the Reds boss admits that he can see it happening.
“My possible successor, yes. Of course it’s possible that Stevie will be manager here one day,” Klopp said before his side’s Premier League match against Villa (via the Liverpool Echo).

Klopp provided an update on Roberto Firmino who has been sidelined with an ankle injury.
“Bobby is in full training. Bobby now trained before the last game,” the former Borussia Dortmund boss said. “He trained two days but we don’t train a lot so he always has to do more.
“That’s what he’s still doing so it’s a decision for tomorrow. He gets closer and closer. Hopefully he can be involved.
