Kiwis could face rising star Rodman
Trinity Rodman, the fast-rising new star of US women's soccer, has been called up to the SheBelieves Cup squad that will face New Zealand.
Rodman, 19, is the daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman. This month she signed the most lucrative club contract in the history of US women's soccer - a three-year, $US1.1m ($A1.5m) deal with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) champions Washington Spirit.
The striker scored seven goals and shad even assists to earn NWSL Rookie of the Year and US Soccer Young Player of the Year honours, while helping the Spirit to the title.
Rodman had been invited to training camp in advance of the SheBelieves Cup, but now she holds an official roster spot for the first time after being named as named as an injury replacement.
The Czech Republic and Iceland make up the four-team tournament which starts February 17. The US play New Zealand on February 20 in California.
