The people of Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA) in Anambra state are filled with hope and excitement as the highly anticipated Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation Cup 2024 tournament advances to the semi-final stage.

This prestigious event has brought the community together to celebrate sportsmanship, unity, camaraderie, and talent. The atmosphere is filled with radiant hope, reflecting the collective optimism and energy of the people of Nnewi South LGA.

Speaking to the media, the organizer, Kingsley Obiukwu, noted that football is a powerful symbol of hope and peace for every community.

He also explained that the tournament, which serves as a valuable tool for social change, runs from August to September and involves the ten towns of Nnewi South.

Kingsley also noted that the influx of spectators into the town is benefitting local businesses. Additionally, the final cash prizes, ₦700,000, ₦500,000, and ₦300,000 for the top 3 teams, offer more than just financial incentives; they aim to foster a sense of communal spirit and encourage ongoing community development.
