King Charles III's Coronation Concert: Live updates as Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Sir Bryn Terfel and more prepare for royal gig

Just over 24 hours since the nation witnessed the coronation of a new monarch the country is getting ready for one of the biggest concerts of the year to mark the occasion: the Coronation Concert, held at Windsor Castle to honour the new King Charles III.

With a star-studded line up including Katy Perry, Take That, Lionel Richie and more, the performances are set to begin at 8pm with more than 20,000 members of the public turning out at the event alongside the royals and esteemed guests.

Those who weren't lucky enough to bag an invite can still enjoy the pomp and performance - but from the comfort of their own home as the BBC will begin broadcasting the show live from the East Lawn on the castle grounds at that time.

The concert will be presented by Hugh Bonneville with Kirsty Young returning to anchor the special live broadcast for BBC Television and iPlayer.

Kirsty will host within the grounds of Windsor Castle while Clara Amfo and Jordan Banjo will be chatting to the artists backstage, while BBC Radio 2 will capture the atmosphere of the concert ahead of the event. Originally Zoe Ball was set to present this segment, however, she has had to pull out last minute due to being unwell. Read more on that here. However, all is not lost as Eurovision semi-finals presenter Scott Mills is stepping in last minute to save the day while Dermot O'Leary can be heard from within the crowds.

Alongside musical performances from the likes of Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, The Royal Opera and The Coronation Choir, those enjoying the festivities will be entertained by a handful of memorable sketches featuring some familiar faces - such as Dame Joan Collins, Winnie the Poo, Bear Grylls OBE and Oti Mabuse.
