Kieran Tierney to Celtic return addressed by insider Scott Brown as ultimate Arsenal challenge issued

Scott Brown concedes it is up to Kieran Tierney if he wants to leave Arsenal for Celtic - but reckons that a comeback for his old pal would be "unbelievable"

The pair spent five trophy-laden seasons together in Glasgow before left-back made the move to the Emirates in £25million deal. But after five years on the books at Arsenal, Tierney – who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad – will reportedly be allowed to leave the Premier League giants when the January window opens having dropped down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

The Scotland international has made his return to training having missed the entire campaign so far through the hamstring injury he picked up at Euro 2024. The Celtic rumour mill was sent into overdrive about a potential return after Brendan Rodgers was snapped chatting with his old charge last month at the Celtic FC Foundation’s London Gala event.

Speaking on Hotline LIVE, Keith Jackson admitted he wasn't "ruling out" a return to Glasgow's east end for the 27-year-old. Brown responded: "He is at Arsenal now and he obviously wants to go back and play games. It's up to him what he does and where he goes. If he was ever to come back, it would be unbelievable. But for me, I think he's got to focus on Arsenal and get back into that team.

"They're a fantastic team as well. You never know, he could go and win the Premier League with them. When he first got into the team, they loved him. He's still only 27. I'd like to see him do something like win the Premier League."

In case you haven't heard, we've launched a new Hotline Live show, airing at 6pm every day, with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays.
