Kieran Tierney sees his Celtic transfer return split the Jury but it's a different story for Cyriel Dessers at Rangers

MICHAEL GANNON: If Tierney hadn’t struggled with injury in recent times it wouldn’t even be up for discussion as he’d be an EPL regular. If Celtic can get him back – and keep him fit– it would be a sensational bit of business.

FRASER WILSON: A massive risk. If the player can be fit for 90-95 per cent of games and is in the Hoops’ wage bracket then it’s a no-brainer. But there are too many question marks over Tierney’s fitness these days.

SCOTT BURNS: You can understand why Celtic are all over this deal. It makes sense. A proven Scottish international who has been there and done it. His injuries have been a concern but I’m sure any deal Celtic do would be heavily weighted on KT playing.

MICHAEL GANNON: They are certainly going to be under the spotlight. It was a serious blunder and it has to be a warning to officials to raise their game.

FRASER WILSON: Yes and rightly so in terms of the VARs. The Hampden penalty mistake wasn’t the only one at the weekend, just look at Motherwell against Dundee United. Hopefully this focuses the mind of those at the video controls.

SCOTT BURNS: There are talking points every other week with regards to refereeing blunders and VAR. Nothing is going to change on that front. The officials just need to try and limit the mistakes but there will be greater scrutiny, especially from the Rangers support.

MICHAEL GANNON: The striker comes across as a nice guy with a good attitude, who can score goals fairly regularly. But he can’t be relied on in the big moments and that’s now a luxury Rangers can ill afford.

FRASER WILSON: If a decent offer came in then Rangers should take it. Dessers is at an age where he’s not going to get better. And he’s simply not good enough for Rangers.
