Khamzat Chimaev wants to smash UFC opponent in special grappling match

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the fastest-rising fighters and exciting strikers in the UFC, and he recently claimed that he could even defeat his past opponent Gilbert Burns in a ‘special grappling’ match without any striking.

Chimaev recently sat down alongside his ‘Smesh Bro’ Darren Till and discussed a number of topics for the Blockasset Blockparty live stream.

When his contest with Burns was brought up, Chimaev laughed off the idea that the Brazilian fighter was better than him in terms of grappling and work on the ground.

Here is what Khamzat Chiamev had to say about potentially facing UFC fighter Gilbert Burns in a special rules grappling match in the near future.

Prior to his fight against Burns, Chiamev had been steamrolling whoever had been put against him inside the octagon.

The 28-year-old Swedish fighter had never gone beyond the second round in the octagon, so his five-round clash with Burns was the most he had ever been tested.

Despite Chimaev having to go the distance to get the win, many are still rolling with the ‘Borz’ hype train, and his comments on the Bllockparty live stream only add to his allure as a personality in MMA.

In terms of his fight with Burns, he said: “Someone said like he stopped his takedowns, he didn’t stop my takedowns, I stopped HIS takedowns. When I took him down [my] coach said ‘let him come up,’ that’s why I let him come up.
