Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson: Dana White shows interest in TUF season

UFC president Dana White has confirmed that he’d be open to the idea of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson coaching a season of The Ultimate Fighter.

While the UFC has been pretty consistent when it comes to giving us the fights we want to see, there are still a few that have slipped through the cracks over the years. Whether it be due to circumstances beyond their control or simply not being able to get a deal done, there are dream fights that as fans, we’ll forever be thinking about what could’ve been.

In the modern era, you could certainly make the argument that the biggest ‘what if’ has been the elusive Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson showdown.

They’d been scheduled to meet on five separate occasions only for fate to get in the way each time, and now, the prospect of them actually fighting one another is nothing more than a distant memory.

However, after Ferguson recently floated the idea of them coaching a season of The Ultimate Fighter together, Khabib seemed to be open to it.

As it turns out, so is Dana White, after the proposal was put to him during an interview with Spinnin Backfist.

“Do you like it? So you’re telling me you guys, as fans, media, whatever it might be, like the idea of two guys possibly coaching that wouldn’t fight each other?”

One of the hosts went on to use the Conor McGregor vs Urijah Faber season as an example of how it can work quite well.

“I’ll consider it. Congratulations.”

“Okay. I will absolutely entertain that idea.”

They proceeded to note that Khabib and Ferguson still have some leftover tension from their previous feud, prompting White to admit that he still wants to see that fight.
