Khabib Nurmagomedov: UFC legend inducted into Hall of Fame

Determination, commitment and grit has taken Khabib Nurmagomedov from the bottom to the very top of the UFC world and his induction into the Hall of Fame was inevitable following his retirement.

The official announcement was made during the UFC 272 broadcast confirming that Khabib would be the first to enter the 2022 UFC Hall of Fame Class.

Khabib has consistently stunned fans from around the world with his performances which earned him his place on the “Modern Wing” of the Hall of Fame alongside fighters such as Urijah Faber, Ronda Rousey and Georges St-Pierre.

Time has flown as it marks just a little under a year since the abrupt retirement from Khabib which came after a dominant win over Justin Gaethje in the main event UFC 254, taking his record to a seriously impressive 29-0 with 19 finishes.

Khabib debuted in the UFC on 20 January, 2012 when he won by submission against Kamal Shalorus. He went on finish 12-0 in the UFC and became lightweight champion from 2018 until his retirement.

He is an extremely decorated fighter as he ties a division record of winning four UFC title bouts, his 12 lightweight wins without losing is also tied as the longest winning streak and his overall 13-bout winning streak ranks third in the entirety of UFC history.
