Khabib Nurmagomedov's face after his 13 UFC fights

The undefeated and invincible Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov officially announced his retirement from UFC around 13 months ago, but his dominance still remains fresh in the minds of fans.

Thirteen is a fitting number, as it represents the number of fights he had in the UFC as well as the number of his wins.

While some fans might find his fighting style boring, the effectiveness of his wrestling can not be disputed in any way.

The Dagestani fighter is not only undefeated, but as his post-fight photos show, unscratched and completely unscathed, something most UFC fighters (or boxers!) could only dream of.

After defeating Justin Gaethje by submission in two rounds at UFC 254, he took off his gloves and placed them symbolically on the canvas, signifying his retirement from MMA with an incredible 29-0 record.

Speaking in his post-fight interview, Khabib said that after the passing of his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, he made a promise to his mother that he would not compete again.

It came as a shock to many UFC fans and a lot of effort was made by UFC fighters and management to keep their biggest star, but Khabib had made up his mind.

“My mother is the most precious thing I have left. Come on, you won’t push me to do things that disappoint my mother.”

The Nurmagomedovs are being touted as UFC’s next great family dynasty, starting from their house turned gym built by Khabib’s late father Abdulmanap.

Besides Khabib, there are three others in his family making their own legacy in professional fighting.
