Kevin McLoughlin joins Tony McEntee's Sligo management team

Just two months after announcing his retirement from Mayo duty, Kevin McLoughlin is back on the inter-county scene having joined the Sligo management according to reports.

Yeats County boss Tony McEntee needed to add to his coaching team after Colm McFadden headed back to Donegal to join up with his brother-in-law Jim McGuinness following his return to the hot-seat in the Tir Chonaill County.

It's not the first time McLoughlin and McEntee have crossed paths with the Armagh 2002 winner coaching Mayo under Stephen Rochford for three seasons.

McLoughlin played for 15 seasons for his county before deciding to step away from Kevin McStay’s panel. He continues to play for Knockmore.

Sligo will operate in Division 3 in 2024 after last year’s promotion. They will face Leitrim in the quarter-final of the Connacht SFC following Saturday’s provincial draws on RTÉ Radio's Saturday Sport.
