Kevin Magnussen says 'something good' is coming at Haas for the new F1 season

Haas driver Kevin Magnussen says that ‘something good’ is coming for their team this season, as they look to have a far more competitive campaign in 2022 than they did in 2021.

The new Formula 1 season is nearly here and, for Haas, it perhaps cannot come soon enough.

2021 was a self-enforced write-off as they opted to focus nearly all of their resources on building a car for 2022 with the new regulations in mind.

Since then, they’ve had to end their contract with both title sponsor Uralkali and driver Nikita Mazepin over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and so they’ll all be eager to get racing and focus on the Grands Prix ahead.

Indeed, Kevin Magnussen is back in the garage with the team to partner Mick Schumacher and the Dane says that there is a positive feeling among them ahead of lights out in Bahrain.

“[Guenther Steiner] didn’t promise anything.

“He said they have been working really hard on it and have given me some indications and then just walking around, speaking to everyone in the team, I feel there is some sort of vibe going on.

“Let’s see. I don’t think we are going for the championship this year but I think there is a good atmosphere. You can feel something good is coming, but let’s see.

“Our expectations are under control.

“We know better than to think we will go out there and smash it.

“But it’s good that there’s a lot of smiles around the team and everyone is looking forward to it, and they are not scared of going on track with something that will be embarrassing because I feel like the team are in a good place.”

Many would surely like to see Haas go well this year.
