Kevin De Bruyne holds the key for Mikel Arteta to level up Arsenal’s star man to his maximum

Mikel Arteta arrived from Manchester City with the expectation of taking the Pep Guardiola philosophy and bringing it to Arsenal.

However, it quickly became apparent that Arsenal’s radical differences with his former side would spark a much longer process than perhaps the young coach expected. Mikel Arteta shifted from signing players such as Willian and Thomas Partey, designed to give immediate success, to six signings of 23 years and younger.

Players signed for both the short and long-term. Among those, Martin Odegaard was acquired from Real Madrid after impressing the Arsenal boss during his six-month loan spell and has simply become the team's most important player.
