Kenny Miller wants Falkirk job permanently as he hints at hidden reason behind Martin Rennie exit

Kenny Miller says he wants to be Falkirk manager beyond the end of the season after taking the reins from Martin Rennie.

The former Scotland striker joined the Bairns as assistant manager back in December, linking up with Rennie for the second time after playing under him at Vancouver Whitecaps.

However Rennie's homecoming at Falkirk was far from a happy one as he failed to secure a playoff spot in League One.

Last week it was confirmed that Rennie will return to the US at the end of the season, but Falkirk announced he will step back into an advisory role until then - with his No.2 taking the reins in the interim.

It's an unusual step, and former Rangers and Celtic hitman Miller is hoping to use it as an audition for the top job.

Miller, who led Falkirk to a 3-1 win over East Fife at the weekend, said: “It's something that Martin has discussed with me over the last couple of weeks and there is a reason I agreed to come in and help.
