Kennie Carter murder trial LIVE updates as verdicts to be announced

Jurors are set to return verdicts in the Kennie Carter murder trial. Ten teenagers have been standing trial at Manchester Crown Court for the past nine weeks.

Jabriel Ferguson, 19, of School Walk, Old Trafford; Latif Ferguson, 18, of the same address; and Rashaun Williams, 18, from Staffordshire; have all been charged with murder and manslaughter.

Seven other boys - all under 18 - have been charged with the same offences. They cannot be named for legal reasons. All ten defendants deny all charges.

Kennie, 16, died following an incident on Thirlmere Avenue in Stretford, Trafford, on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

The verdicts in the case are expected to be announced shortly.

Trial judge, Mr Justice Goose, says the convicted defendants will be sentenced on July 26.

The verdicts were delivered in silence, after the judge ordered members of the public to stay quiet as the process completed.
