Kemar Roofe drops Rangers comeback hint as star's custom order raises Europa League Final hopes

Uncertainty lingers over Kemar Roofe 's Europa League Final chances but the Rangers striker is making sure he's prepared nonetheless.

The forward has been out since sustaining an injury during the Scottish Cup semi-final victory over Celtic and faces a race against time to be fit for Wednesday's showdown with Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Alfredo Morelos also out and Cedric Itten well down the pecking order, Roofe is Rangers' only remaining senior striker.

That's no doubt why Giovanni van Bronckhorst has hinted he'll give the Jamaica international every chance to prove he's ready.

And the latest social media post from the former Leeds United star suggests he could be winning his battle, despite being absent again for Saturday's win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

Roofe has had a custom-made pair of shinguards delivered ahead of the trip to Seville and that could well mean he's confident of being involved in midweek.

Given Van Bronckhorst's lack of other options, it feels as though even a less-than fully fit Roofe could play some part.

But the Rangers boss admitted earlier this week it's a waiting game.

He said: "He's not training with the team at the moment.

"For him, he's doing everything.

"I really admire his desire to be ready for the game on Wednesday.

"We're pushing hard, but it's one of those injuries where it's a close call.

"Hopefully he can make some positive steps in the coming days."
