Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho faces uncertainty regarding his future as his contract nears its end, with reports suggesting that the club may not extend his contract beyond this season.

The Nigerian attacker joined Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017. However, with his contract approaching its expiration, speculation has arisen regarding his next move.

Enzo Maresca, Leicester City’s manager, addressed the contract situations of key players like Wilfred Ndidi and Iheanacho, indicating that the club’s focus is on achieving its goals for the current season before making any decisions on contract renewals.

Maresca stated that after the season, they will evaluate whether players and the club are happy to continue together, which will determine the future of players like Iheanacho.

Despite a strong start to his career, Iheanacho’s recent performances have been less consistent, leading to reduced playing time.

With Leicester City fighting for a return to the Premier League, the club may consider reshaping its squad, potentially excluding Iheanacho from future plans. This uncertainty has led to interest from various clubs, particularly in Turkey, with Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas expressing interest in the Nigerian forward.
