'Keep an eye on' - Sky Sports journalist teases bargain Newcastle transfer amid bad situation

Newcastle United could move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer if the Merseysiders still need to sell due to their financial situation, according to Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves. 

Newcastle have improved their squad tremendously so far under their new ownership and it doesn’t look like they are stopping anytime soon after securing Sven Botman from Lille for around £35m.

One player they have been linked with is Everton’s Calvert-Lewin, who has also been linked with Premier League rivals Arsenal, however, it is unclear if the Toffees are willing to sell after losing Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur.

Graves believes that they could still sign the striker if Everton need to sell due to their troubling financial situation, which means they have to sell before buying any additional players.

He said on the Loaded Mag NUFC YouTube channel: “If Everton’s financial problems are as bad as we’re led to believe and they’re prepared to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a fee that would fit into Newcastle, then he’s one to keep an eye on, I think – at £30m, not £60m.”
