Keane out of running for Sunderland role - report
Roy Keane is no longer in the running to become Sunderland manager according to reports this morning.
The Athletic have stated that Keane, who held talks with the League 1 club for a dramatic return to Wearside, is out of the reckoning.
Sunderland dismissed manager Lee Johnson two weeks ago despite being in the automatic promotion mix and have lost two matches in the interim period.
Asked about speculation surrounding a return, Keane told ITV last weekend: "I've made it clear over the last few years I'd like to go back as a manager.
"But, of course, a club has to want you, you have to want to go to that club. Just as important the contract has got to be right. We'll see how things take shape over the next few days."
No reason has been given for Keane moving out of the equation for Sunderland.
