Kate Garraway reveals wardrobe blunder as she took part in Platinum Jubilee Pageant celebrations

Kate Garraway has revealed that she suffered a wardrobe blunder as she had the honour of taking part in the official Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Good Morning Britain host was one of many famous faces involved in the Platinum Pageant which took place on Sunday.

Hundreds of national treasures joined the Time of Our Lives section of the spectacle in central London, which paid homage to the last seven decades of the Queen's historic reign. A series of open-top buses accommodated singers, actors, and models from each time period.

Meanwhile, a series of classic Jaguar cars carried Dame's including former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips, who joined Kate on Monday's GMB (June 6) to chat about the experience, as well as Joan Collins and Prue Leith, whose car broke down and had to be pushed by stewards towards Buckingham Palace where members of the royal family were watching the pageant which started with a military procession.

Speaking about her blunder, Kate told co-stars Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid: "We were told to wear sensible shoes because there was a lot of walking. But there was a moment when we first arrived which by the way can I just say a personal moment of jubilation for me because there was a big sign that said National Treasures and we got to walk through it.

"We all gathered together and Sir Cliff Richard was there and I thought, ‘I’ve got my old trainers on, I’m embarrassed.'" Susan then chimed in: "So you chucked one away," to which Kate, 55, replied: "I changed and then dropped it."
