Katarina Johnson-Thompson wins two events at Loughborough, her first competition since Commonwealth Games

Katarina Johnson-Thompson won the 100m hurdles and the 4x400m at the Loughborough International in her first competition since the Commonwealth Games last August. The 2019 world heptathlon champion ran 13.73 seconds in the 100m hurdles which was 0.8 seconds ahead of Mia McIntosh. Ad Johnson-Thompson ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay, in a team comprising of Ama Pipi, Poppy Malik and Louise Evanswhich, which England won in a time of 3:37.03.

The Loughborough International Athletics event is traditionally seen as the beginning of the outdoor season. Johnson-Thompson will be looking to build on her victories by securing qualification for the World Championships in Budapest which runs from August 19-27. The 30-year-old will next compete at the Hypo-Meeting in Austria next weekend.
