Karim Benzema & Robert Lewandowski: How expensive were their Ballon d’Or watches?
Karim Benzema wore a watch at the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony that was ‘8,000 times more expensive’ than Robert Lewandowski’s.
That’s according to Spanish publication Marca, who say social media users noticed the world-class strikers were wearing very different wristwear on Monday night.
Benzema won the Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career after inspiring Real Madrid to glory in the Champions League and La Liga last season.
Lewandowski, meanwhile, picked up the Gerd Muller award as he was the player who scored the most goals with his club and national team last term.
The prolific Poland international joined Barcelona in the summer, bringing the curtain down on his glittering eight-year spell at Bayern Munich in the process.

Per Marca, Benzema turned up to the ceremony wearing a Richard Mille RM 65-01 - a watch that is reportedly considered to be the brand's most complicated.
It took five years of testing to bring the watch to market, according to GQ, as it ‘incorporates a high-frequency balance that is capable of timing down to one 10th of a second with the utmost precision’.
Sounds pretty fancy, doesn’t it?
