Karen Carney praises "outstanding" Sam Kerr and predicts WSL title challengers for next season
After another exhilarating Women’s Super League season, it’s time to regroup, turn to the transfer window and look ahead to the upcoming campaign.
Chelsea came out on top to secure their third consecutive title and Sam Kerr picked up her second straight Golden Boot, as well as the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Year award.
Former Chelsea and Arsenal star Karen Carney discussed the Australian’s award-winning season and which team has what it takes to challenge the Blues at the top of the table.
Carney spoke with GiveMeSport Women during the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Year event last month.
“It [the season] was awesome, we always wanted it to go down to the final game of the season. It was great for everyone, great for the neutrals, obviously unfortunate for Arsenal and their fans but that’s football, there’s only going to be one winner.
“But it was a great title race, great season, and the battle for third place as well was equally as good.”
