Karen Carney believes that Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale may well be the signing of the season.

Despite initially being brought in as this season's understudy to Bernd Leno following a £30million move from Sheffield United, Ramsdale has turned his fortunes around at the Emirates and solidified his position as the Gunners' No. 1.

The Arsenal goalkeeper has recorded 11 Premier League clean sheets in 21 games and has pulled off some remarkable saves in that time, including memorable stops from Tottenham's Lucas Moura and Leicester's James Maddison.

Now as we near the business end of the season, Ramsdale has been given the ultimate praise by Carney who thinks he's arguably the signing of the season.

"I read that the reason they signed him was probably the reason why everyone thought 'don't sign him'," Carney told Premier League Productions, via the Express.

"Arsenal said that he had back-to-back relegations but they saw resilience in him and it didn't fear them, it actually made them want to sign him and they knew he could bounce back.
