Kapp, Lee, Jaftha back for UK leg of Proteas women's cricket tour

Marizanne Kapp, Lizelle Lee and Sinalo Jaftha have been included in the Proteas women's squad for the United Kingdom leg of their tour.

The trio didn't take part in the three ODIs and three T20s against Ireland, but are back with the bigger threat of England looming in the form of a once-off Test, three ODIs and three T20s.

The one-off Test will take place in Taunton from 27 June while the limited-overs games will take place next month. South Africa won the T20 series against Ireland 2-1 and are on course to complete a series whitewash in the ODIs.

Tazmin Brits, Raisibe Ntozakhe and Delmi Tucker will return to South Africa following the Ireland tour while Dane van Niekerk and Masabatha Klaas recuperate from their injuries and therefore remain unavailable.

Proteas women's coach Hilton Moreeng said they're expecting a tough, but educational tour of England, especially due to the fact they've got a Test match to play.

"Now that we are going to England, we know that we are going to start with a format that most of them haven't played in a while other than the preparation that we had, so it is exciting times, especially as a young cricketer in the squad," Moreeng said.

"We are up against a very competitive team, a team that plays well in their conditions.

"It's going to be tough as we go along but at the end of the day, we are excited with the group that we have and we now have an opportunity against the hosts to be able to win a series in England."

The Commonwealth games squad will be announced on 12 July.
