Juventus great believes Cristiano Ronaldo will get Manchester United transfer wish

Juventus hero Alessandro Del Piero refuses to believe Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo does not have options to move elsewhere during the summer transfer window.

Having completed a sensational return to Old Trafford last season, after 12 years with Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions and offered hope in what was an otherwise dismal campaign for United. But it seems that even a new managerial appointment has not been enough to convince the Portugal captain to stay beyond this summer.

Ronaldo, 37, wants to leave as Chelsea continue to be linked with his signature. Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich have distanced themselves with a move, though, while reports from Europe suggest Ronaldo was 'offered' to PSG. He's recently been linked with a club in Saudi Arabi.

United insist that Ronaldo will not be sold and Erik ten Hag is eager to work with him. However, should the five-time Ballon d'Or winner look to move on, there should be no shortage of takers for one of the best players — perhaps the greatest — of the modern era.

Speaking to ESPN FC, former Juventus and Italy forward Del Piero said: "I can't believe [no clubs are interested in him], I can't believe. I still believe he's an amazing champion, great mentality.

"Yes, I also think he's not in shape like we used to see in the last two, three years something is missing sometimes but also you need to consider if you are performing in a team which is performing well, your performance is going to be much better than what you see. On the other side, if you play in a side that's not doing well, it's the opposite so you're going to see him playing worse than he used to play."
