Juventus could 'U-turn' on Mason Greenwood transfer with Jadon Sancho Man United plan

Juventus are reportedly considering exiting negotiations for Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood and pivoting their interest towards Jadon Sancho instead.

MEN Sport reported last week that Juve were leading the race to sign Greenwood this summer with interest from Napoli also mentioned. However, Corriere Torino understands the Turin club may be looking to U-turn on a deal after fan backlash towards the idea of signing the Englishman.

The forward was suspended by United in January 2022 amid allegations of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour. All charges were later dropped.

It is widely expected that United shall choose to sell Greenwood in the summer and it is believed an offer of £40m was being prepared for the winger. But with Juventus' interest in the winger beginning to cool, it is understood that Sancho is being explored as an alternative option.

Sancho spent the second-half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after a well-publicised fallout with Erik ten Hag. There was some reports that suggested if the Dutchman left Old Trafford, the 24-year-old would be reintegrated into the United team.

However, INEOS have since chosen to stick with Ten Hag which suggests an exit for Sancho is around the corner. The report from Corriere Torino adds that Juve are not confident of being able to reach United's £42m asking price and would instead pursue a loan deal with the option to negotiate a permanent transfer in next year's transfer window.
