Juventus 1-1 Nantes: Dusan Vlahovic opener cancelled out by Ludovic Blas amid late VAR penalty drama Turin

Ludovic Blas' second half equaliser earned Nantes a 1-1 draw against Juventus in Turin in the first leg of their Europa League playoff. Juventus started the game brightly, looking to get forward from the first whistle and impose themselves on the tie. Ad After just 13 minutes Massimiliano Allegri's side had the lead.

Angel Di Maria brilliantly switched the ball from right to left to Federico Chiesa who was able to nod the ball back across goal for Dusan Vlahovic to fire home first time. However, the second half was a completely different story, as the visitors came out with much more intensity and purpose.

On the hour mark Nantes had the equaliser. The French side were able to counter from one penalty area to the other and Ludovic Blas struck his effort past Wojciech Szczesny and into the back of the net. Just one minute later Juventus thought they had their second when Federico Chiesa fired an effort which struck the underside of the crossbar and then onto the bar but only three quarters of the ball crossed the line.

The rest of the game fell into a familiar pattern with Juventus dominating the ball and looking to create an opening, with Nantes playing on the counter-attack.
