Justin Langer reveals why he rejected Cricket Australia's short-term contract extension as head coach

Justin Langer told Cricket Australia (CA) he wanted to bow out with dignity and integrity rather than accept a short-term contract to continue as men's head coach.

In his resignation letter, published by News Corp on Sunday, Langer cited the reasons why he decided to walk away.

»After careful consideration, I have decided not to accept this contract renewal, and as a result, I believe it is in everyone's best interests for the Australian cricket team to begin the next chapter immediately.
