Jurgen Klopp's incredible Borussia Dortmund XI that thrashed Bayern Munich to win double

Jurgen Klopp 's star-studded Liverpool squad currently find themselves fighting on all four trophy fronts, but they aren't the only incredible side the German has ever assembled.

During his time with Borussia Dortmund, the current Reds boss transformed the Black and Yellows from mid-table also-rans into German juggernauts. Klopp won five honours during his glittering seven-year spell at the club but his finest achievement with Dortmund arguably came back in 2012.

Fresh from winning their first Bundesliga title in over a decade the previous year, Klopp's side enjoyed a record-breaking season which saw them retain their crown with a then-record number of points and league wins, in addition to claiming the DFB Pokal with a stunning 5-2 thumping of Bayern Munich. It's fair to say Klopp's double-winning side were quite the force.

Masters of the Gegenpress, Klopp's Dortmund were a well-oiled machine and thrived in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Dortmund legend Roman Weidenfeller was Klopp's trusted pair of hands between the sticks and the backline tasked with protecting the stopper were some quartet.

Neven Subotic and Mats Hummels were two towering figures at the heart of the defence, flanked by Polish international Lukasz Piszczek on the right and the ever-reliable Marcel Schmelzer on the left. But in order to attempt to breach the back four, opponents first had to find a way past a daunting holding midfield partnership of Ilkay Gundogan, now at Manchester City, and the experienced Sebastian Kehl, who was captain and leader of the side.
